Major Systems
All of the major systems on the boat have some electric component. Some also have a mechanical component, such as a windlass or an autopilot or an electric auxilliary motor. Some drive heat pumps such as the air conditioning and heat and the refrigeration. Some have pumps such as the watermaker, the plumbing (fresh water) and the drainage (bilge pumps and gray water tanks). All of the navigation systems have electronics.
All of these systems will at some point will have to have components purchased and then will need to be installed.
- Electric Auxilliary Propulsion
- This page documents the selection criteria for the electric auxilliary. Installation is covered in another page that is referenced. The page needs minor update to reflect the purchase of the motor.
- Electric Systems in the Cabin
- Systems in the cabin include inverters, refrigeration, air conditioning and heat, cooktop and oven, and watermaker.
- Navigation & Communications
- This page provides the overall plan to upgrade navigation instruments, radar, and possible addition of SSB. Details are provided in referenced pages.
- 24V Electric Windlass
- The manual windlass disintegrated making it an easier decision to replace it with an electric windlass.
- Fresh Water, Salt Water, Waste Water, and Drainage
- This page summarizes plumbing systems including the fresh water tanks and system, the salt water plumbing, the gray water and water water systems and drainage.
